To RSVP or Not to RSVP? That is the Question

My dad, my brother and I discussed whether or not Christians should attend a homosexual wedding. Our dad, a preacher for 50 years, said even though we might love the couple, attending their homosexual wedding is contrary to the word of God. My brother disagrees. He believes Christians should have the right to decide whether or not to attend without being judged by other Christians.

My brother reminded us that a relative has lived with his girlfriend for many years. And yet, we have attended many family events at their home. My brother argued that people of the same sex marrying is no more of a sin than our relative and his girlfriend living together. So why are we okay with visiting our relative but uncomfortable attending a homosexual wedding? My brother's argument sounded reasonable and even somewhat biblical. The Bible does say all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

I partly agree with my brother. If a Christian truly feels divinely led to attend a homosexual wedding, so be it. Go in God's name. I have a problem with Christians attending to be thought of as tolerant, enlightened, and “in” with these modern times.

There is a movement in Christian circles to passively go along with every behavior in the name of grace and love.

Once the Left is allowed to legally redefine marriage, it opens a can of worms. A woman married her dog. Another married a dolphin. A woman divorced a truck to marry a train. Three, four and more people are joining together in marriage. I am not making this up.

An 18-year-old woman plans to marry her father. She told a reporter that they love each other and just want to be happy. She cannot understand anyone objecting to them being happy. Homosexuals say the same thing. Those who do not fully embrace any and all kinds of unions are now branded haters.

I asked my brother. Suppose your ex-wife and your adult son said they were in love. If invited, would you attend their wedding? Why not? It is no more of a sin than our relative living with his girlfriend. Wouldn't attending their wedding send the world the message that you bless the union of your son and his mother?

The ceremony even says, “If anyone here has reason why these two should not be joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace.” The assumption of the preacher and guests is all in attendance enthusiastically approve of the marriage. Therefore, keeping silent would equal lying. It also emboldens guests to spread the normalization of such marriages. Why would anyone participate in the nuptials celebration unless they approved? Free food?

Quoting the old Marvin Gaye song, “What's Goin' On”? We are in the midst of the Left stepping up its war on all things wholesome, traditional, and Christian. Their quest is to make perversion the new normal. And we regular folks had better not say anything about it, if we know what's good for us.

Allowing the Left to normalize perversion in the minds of our kids is the new child abuse

The Left has successfully trained the America people. We know anything less than enthusiastic approval of Bruce Jenner becoming a woman will result in severe punishment. Still, I am going to go out on a limb risking angering the Left by admitting that I am a bit puzzled. We're supposed to believe that for decades, Bruce has been a woman trapped in a man's body. This guy is an Olympic gold medalist. Isn't it safe to say that it takes super male testosterone to compete against other men to achieve such a rare goal? Anyway, we had better embrace Bruce's sex change with open arms less we be branded haters. This is where we are in America today, folks.

I cannot wait to call my 87-year-old preacher dad to alert him of the new behavior the Left is gearing up to demand that we embrace. It’s called “transabled” persons. Transabled people feel like impostors in their normal bodies. They have an overwhelming desire to cut off a limb, blind themselves, make themselves deaf -- in other words, disable themselves. The Left, sympathetic to their cause, considers it a human rights thing

Dad is going to laugh, thinking I am pulling his leg. Laugh now Dad, but you won't be laughing when the government attacks your church and you are sued for discrimination. You perform christenings and baptisms, why not transabled ceremonies; celebrating a person's new life liberated from their unwanted body part.

Lord, help us.
