Val Prieto at the Cuban—American Babalu blog takes a dim view of the ongoing illegal alien debacle, with its Mexican flag—waving mass protests.

In what's some of the best blogging on the Web, Val describes why he abhors terms like "Latino" and "Hispanic" and points out the difference between refugees and immigrants, something that gets lost in the muddled leftist obfuscation of the issue.

He has little time for the Mexican—flag wavers who blocked traffic in Los Angeles in their Che t—shirts, offering a little history lesson to the ignorant truants about Che and describing the real blessings of citizenship, assimilation, love and appreciation for the U.S. as a legal immigrant.

He knows this quite well.

Val fled the totalitarian dictatorship of Fidel Castro in 1968 and has since successfully made it as an American by playing by the rules and giving thanks for the blessings of freedom.
