The flying palace
Airbus has unofficially christened (oops, make that "named") the personal jet transport version of its A380 super-jumbo jet "The flying palace" according to this article in Flightglobal.com. Given the likelihood that most potential customers are likely to be oil potentates, FGI's headline that the plane has been "baptized" the flying palace is as inapt as my use of "christened."
Follow the link and you will see an illustration of what the private dining room of an A380 would look like, as envisioned by Lufthansa Technik, a subsidiary of the airline which outfits private aircraft interiors, among many other things. I notice that Lufthansa pictures a couple of bottles of wine on the table. I presume they will airbrush those out of the Arabic language sales brochure.
