A note on atheism

I hope Mr. Alderman, who wrote the Letter to a Popular Atheist realizes that atheism is a faith-based religion just like any other one - differing merely in the number of gods it advocates.

Atheists' certainty that there are zero gods is as irrational and as unsupportable as is the position advocated by the faithful of other religions, whose views atheists ridicule as irrational and unsupportable.

Some months ago, my annoyance over the treatment of atheism as somehow differing from religiosity of other kinds took a form of a brief blog entry, Atheism's  Uselessness. I think it should go a long way in dispelling the confusion over that aspect of the extremely entangled subject of religion.
