Sean Penn, the "pundint"

By

A lovely young woman who identifies herself only as "Cynthia" has done a terrific video fisking of Sean Penn's recent rant  at the March 24th anti-war rally at Oakland's Grand Lake Theatre, one of the nation's remaining movies palaces. Granted Penn's pretensions provide ample ammunition, but I think that Cynthia displays some real talent here, working with only with a web cam and an entry level microphone. She comes across as a lot smarter, far better looking, and has a much more expressive face, to boot. Her comments, cut into the speech, are well-informed and often hilarious. Sarcasm coming from a beautiful and sweet-voiced woman is among the hardest wounds for a macho, thuggish and pretentious clown like Penn to overcome.

This is yet another example of the way in which the internet empowers everyone to puncture the pretensions of the fatuous. It is getting harder and harder to get away with being such an idiot.

Kudos to Cynthia, who has a bright future ahead, I am sure.
