New York Sun in peril
The New York Sun advises readers it may have to cease publication by the end of September unless it secures additional financing. The Sun has rapidly established itself as a high quality source for news and analysis, with some of the best writers anywhere. If it folds, we will all be the poorer for it.
Alas, the Sun is not immune from the same ailments affecting every big city daily paper. I can only hope that the paper may choose to reconfigure itself as a website, or find some other means for continuing its excellent journalism in a format attuned to the economics of the 21st century information industry.
