Selective outrage on the left
The American left had a fit when lefty reporter/activist Amy Goodman was arrested in St. Paul at the Republican convention for violating a police order to clear an area. Meanwhile, in communist Vietnam, one of their own, an AP reporter, was "punched, choked and hit over the head with a camera by police who detained him Friday while he covered a Catholic prayer vigil in the communist country."
So far, the American left has had nothing much to say about this.
You can watch video of the arrests. First, the professionalism of the Minnesota cops in the face of Goodman's insistence that their orders don't apply to her.
Then, the Vietnamese communists arresting a reporter on the sidelines simply taking pictures. No video is available of the beating the AP says he received.
