Unions try playing the race card

This article in the Washington Times is headlined,

"Labor fears bias may hurt Obama"

Perhaps a truth-in-advertising (alternate) title should be:

"Labor accuses its membership of racism in an attempt to shame them into submission"

The article details how difficult is is for the unions to keep their membership toeing the union line.  This because the rank and file just find it hard to vote for a Black candidate.  Don't take my word for it, I quote James P. Hoffa from the article:

"There are people who are not going to vote for him because he's black...."

Near the bottom of the article however, is the most offensive whopper:

"AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka, while speaking to the United Steelworkers convention in Las Vegas in July, said Mr. Obama is the only candidate left in the presidential race who is on the side of working people.

"There's not a single good reason for any worker - especially any union member - to vote against Barack Obama," he said. "There's only one really bad reason to vote against him: because he's not white."

Really?  "Not a single good reason"!  I don't think I have the space here to enumerate the reasons!
