Democrat profile in courage ignored by US media

The American media largely ignores a brave and honest Democrat telling the truth about the financial crisis. It takes Dominic Lawson of the left-leaning UK Independent to tell the truth:

Congressman Artur Davis, a rising young Democrat from Alabama, confessed this week "Like a lot of my Democrat colleagues I was too slow to appreciate the recklessness of Fannie and Freddie when in retrospect I should have heeded the concerns raised. I wish my Democrat colleagues would admit that we were wrong."

In contrast to Davis, Obama allies helped cause the mortage and loan crisis (ACORN) and he has remained -- as he often remains -- all but silent about the crisis and certainly has never mentioned Democratic responsibility for the turmoil.

The writer of the column, Dominic Lawson, that brought this statement to light, opined:

"I fear Congressman Davis will not go far with this attitude -- but at least he will be able to look at himself in the mirror."

Perhaps being British might lead Mr. Lawson to actually believe that all Congressmen have a sense of shame. For many that principle was flushed out of their systems long ago. There is no sense of shame or responsibility and they would rather look in a camera than look in a mirror.
