Global Warming Causes Mental Illness

In a year in which logic has been lost and crazy has become common, this might be the most illogically crazy article I've seen.  It is a piece from the Boston Globe lifestyle section entitled, “Climate Change Takes a Mental Toll.”

The article explains how doctors are now treating “patients with psychosis or anxiety disorders focused on climate change” and proclaiming “climate change could have a real impact on our psyches.”

These frightening cases of mental disturbance are because in the next 100 years -- gasp -- “the average global temperature is expected to rise between 1 degree and 6 degrees Celsius.”  I was just thinking the other day how 30 years from now, when the temperature will be 117 instead of 116 during Phoenix summers, I plan on freaking out, man.

The article goes on to explain: “After Hurricane Katrina, rates of severe mental illness -- including depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and a variety of phobias -- doubled, from 6.1 percent to 11.3 percent, among those who lived in affected regions.” I’m sure that, after her abrupt departure from Kansas, Dorothy’s palms got a little sweaty every time she saw a tornado warning on OZ TV.  A front row seat to a catastrophic event tends to do that, but scientific proof of global warming it isn't.

The correlation between natural destruction and global warming continues to be specious, at best.  Yet, this darn planet, just by warming up a little, is wreaking havoc on some people's sanity.

Not me. The only thing about "climate change" driving me crazy is that Al Gore keeps winning awards.
