Hamas seizes UN humanitarian aid
While the UN is perfectly happy to spread lies and damned lies about Israel's activities in Gaza, especially when it reflects poorly on them, they quickly get the word out when they can't blame Israel.
JERUSALEM – Hamas police seized thousands of blankets and food packages meant for the needy in Gaza, the U.N. said Wednesday, a move that could threaten the provision of aid essential for a majority of Gaza's impoverished residents.
Christopher Gunness, a spokesman for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), said Hamas policemen broke into an aid warehouse in Gaza City on Tuesday evening and confiscated 3,500 blankets and more than 400 packages of food.
"They were armed, they seized this, they took it by force," Gunness said, terming the seizure "absolutely unacceptable."
Apparently when Hamas seized Israeli provided humanitarian aid by force it was "absolutely acceptable" because it camouflaged the UN's total incompetence. Why wasn't the UN aid warehouse protected by armed guards? Oh, Hamas wouldn't allow it?
UNRWA has been around for 60 years providing make work for its dependents while breeding generation upon generation of dependent, passive welfare recipients. All intertwined, there is no incentive to improve or change because then all involved would be unemployed. So no ruler or politician has a need to provide structure or institutions for an independent society. Problems? Why blame Israel, the Zionists, the US.
