Another Obama supporter slowly wising up
David Brooks is only now starting to catch on:
Those of us who consider ourselves moderates - moderate-conservative, in my case - are forced to confront the reality that Barack Obama is not who we thought he was. His words are responsible; his character is inspiring. But his actions betray a transformational liberalism that should put every centrist on notice.
He quotes The Economist's Clive Crook in an "Oops" column which nevertheless manages to disparage true conservatives while continuing to set-up "moderates" such as himself as the smartest people in the voting booth who should be able to "lure the White House back to its best self."
I kid you not.
