Khadija Abdul Qahaar, formerly Beverly Giesbrecht, converted to Islam after 9/11. She is a 55-year-old journalist from Vancouver, Canada who is being held captive by Taliban forces somewhere in Pakistan.

Taliban militants have threatened to kill her. She has appeared on two videos asking that a 2 million dollar ransom be paid for her release.
