Nancy Pelosi 'Can Do No Wrong', Say 'Scientists'

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) brags that its journal "Science has the largest paid circulation of any peer-reviewed general science journal in the world" and claims to be "dedicated to advancing science around the world."   It is in fact nothing more than an arm of the Democratic Party, as can be seen from "Nancy Pelosi: Foursquare for Science" in the April 3, 2009, issue

As Speaker of the House, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) provokes strong reactions. Republicans like to energize the party faithful by pinning her name to Democratic policies they oppose. But as far as most U.S. scientists are concerned, Pelosi can do no wrong as the leader of congressional Democrats.

"Thank you for all that you've done for science, and keep up the good work," exclaim the political activists posing as scientists.

"Last week" the scientific "community paid tribute to" Pelosi, and she in turn "told scientists they need to work even harder," not to advance science, but "to sustain the gains made in the recent stimulus package, the 2009 spending bill, and the president's budget request for 2010," which will "help us become energy-independent" and even "lower the deficit" !

The "scientific community" is as dedicated to science as the civil rights movement is to civil rights or the peace movement to peace.  Any poor, deluded fool who doubts that should simply read its journals
