Lula faces criticism in Brazil over Honduras role
Reuters is carrying an article that notes that Brazilian President Lula is facing growing criticism for the role he has played in the Zelaya controversy in Honduras, having allowed Zelaya to take refuge in the Brazilian Embassy in Tegucigalpa. The criticism is coming from prominent public figures who are normally supportive of Lula. My take: if the Obama administration had not adopted the perverse position that it has regarding Zelaya's ouster, Lula, the head of a major emerging regional power, might have been spared what is turning into an embarrassment for him.
