Steny Hoyer - Ostrich

I had to overcome the urge to begin this with "Once upon a time there was a Congressman who..." but this is so surreal that even a fairy tale could not match reality. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D.-Md.) said this morning "the current mood of the country reminds him of 1994, a year when the Democrats lost majorities in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate."

CNSNews reports:

Hoyer said public opinion was mistaken in 1994 and suggested that it is mistaken again today.

Random House Dictionary defines hubris as excessive pride or self-confidence; arrogance.  It also defines stupidity as "the state, quality, or fact of being stupid" and stupid is defined as "lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull."  I'll let you decide the best word to describe Mr. Hoyer's ostrich-like reaction to last night's election results.

Whatever the description, Mr. Hoyer is serving up a prescription for a worse thrashing for the Democrat Party than in 1994.

May America be so mistaken.
