Outrage Now, Back Then, Not So Much

At least we know the leak of 250,000 pages of sensitive documents and State Department cables weren't being used for blackmail. Of course we'll never know about the use of 700 raw data FBI files that just happened to be in the hands of the Clinton White House (do we all remember Craig Livingstone?).

Online NewsHour: FBI files hearing heats up -- June 26, 1996

It's true, this is more of a public black eye for the country but I don't recall the Democrats being quite so upset in 1996 over a "bureaucratic mistake." that may have unfairly exposed many prominent Republicans to having to refute any unsubstantiated  rumors, innuendos and outright lies that can be part of raw FBI files. No, now it's outrageous that these raw/incomplete/field reports have fallen onto the hands of Wikileaks.
