At least he was spared the horrors of Gitmo

By direct order from President Barack Obama, alleged terrorist and American citizen, Anwar al Awlaki, has been spared the embarrassment of arrest, the nightmare of rendition, the horror of enhanced interrogation, the injustice of a military tribunal, and the unending degradation of what the president has called the "legal black hole at Guantánamo."

These indignities, routinely visited upon Muslim-Americans during the Bush years, are now part of our past.  Acting boldly, our commander-in-chief moved his human rights agenda forward by having a CIA-led U.S. drone take out the al Awlaki in a spectacularly bloody air strike and save him future suffering.

As to whether anyone first read al Awlaki his Miranda rights, that is still not quite certain.
