Let the Poor and Middle Class Pay Their Fair Share

President Obama said in the Rose Garden, "If we're going to make spending cuts, many of which we wouldn't make if we weren't facing such large budget deficits, then it's only right that we ask everyone to pay their fair share."

Obama is positing the wrong dictate.  The rich are already paying their fair share, but more importantly they are earning their fair share.  They have businesses and jobs that support the entire country. They work.  It works.  They contribute.

What Obama should be saying is that the poor and the middle class should be working harder and earning more so that they could proportionately pay their fair share. Why do they always get a pass? A disproportionate share of taxes come from the rich.  They are already doing their part.

It's time the underachievers (like me) got off our butts and earned enough so that we could pay more taxes.  Help motivate the bottom so that we rise up and do our part. The rich are already doing their share.  It bores me to see politicians constantly picking on the upper classes so that they can capture the huge middle class vote. Jealousy, thy name is the Democratic Party and running for reelection.

Wake up Obama!  Your views are clichéd and part of the populist rhetoric of liberalism-socialism-communism that has already failed so murderously in the twentieth century.

Inspire the underachievers; don't prey on the successful.

Everyone says you're so smart.  Does it make sense to want to capture another term at the expense of ruining America?  Is your personal ego more valuable than the ethos of a great nation?
