California police subdue sword-wielding Muslim shouting 'Allahu akbar!'

You wouldn't know it from reading the Los Angeles Times account of the incident (which omitted all mention of "Allahu Akbar" or Islam), nor from glancing at the headline the Huffington Post chose ("Montasir Ishag, California Man, Charged Deputies With Sword In Meth-Addled Bi-Polar Episode: Police"), but a religiously motivated attack by a Muslim took place this week, to almost no public notice. But Pamela Geller and Front Page Magazine were not so shy. Richard Brooks of the Riverside Press-Enterprise's website, PE Bloggers, unlike the LA Times, was unafraid to put the truth in his lead:

A sword-wielding 33-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man charged deputies while hollering "Allah Akbar," sheriff's officials say, until the deputies halted him with a blast from a bean bag shotgun.

Montasir Ishag was arrested at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, along the 9400 block of Glenaire Court and booked for investigation of attempted murder of a police officer, jail records show. His bail is $1 million.

Deputies were summoned to the house at 1:26 p.m. by a caller who said his son was under the influence of meth and was having a bi-polar episode, sheriff's officials said in a written statement.

The caller also said his son had a sword in his bedroom and feared for his safety.

"When deputies entered the front door, ... Ishag charged the deputies with a sword, while yelling 'Allah Akbar,'" according to the statement. "Deputies used a less than lethal shotgun."

Well, at least they are not calling it "workplace violence," but media shielding from public gaze of the frequently-expressed Islamic imperative to slay infidels is a great disservice. Right up there with the LA Times falsely claiming the Democrats led the passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act - an outright lie intended to protect another favorite group of the LAT.

Someone calling himself Montasir Ishag loaded a self-introduction video onto YouTube that begins, "Wassup, ladies?"  Quite the charmer.
