As we all know, there were 7 million Americans who signed up for Obamacare insurance policies. We have yet to be told how many of those signups actually paid their first month's premium, but that's another story.

A document obtained by the Associated Press shows that at least 2 million of those enrollees are in danger of losing their coverage because the information supplied by the taxpayer doesn't match government records. Taxpayers have three months to resolve the discrepancies or lose their coverage.

At least 2 million people who have enrolled in health insurance through Healthcare.gov need to fix data discrepancies or could lose access to their coverage.

The figure, cited in a government document obtained by The Associated Press, could be higher and reflects only consumers who have signed up through the website and call centers.

The discrepancy means that information supplied, subject to perjury laws, is not matching up with what the government has on record. Most of the conflicts involve details on income, citizenship and immigration status according to a seven-page slide presentation from the Health and Human Services Department provided to the AP.

Those affected have been contacted either through mail or email, according to a blog post on Healthcare.gov. The post urges those contacted to take action to upload or mail in any needed documents, as it is possible that tax credits or coverage could depend on it. Coverage will not be interrupted while documents are being reviewed, the blog post said.

While administration officials are confident the discrepancies can be fixed through the summer, a system has been set up to “turn off” benefits for those found ineligible.

“The fact that a consumer has an inconsistency on their application does not mean there is a problem on their enrollment,” Julie Bataille, communications coordinator for the health care rollout, said. “Most of the time what that means is that there is more up-to-date information that they need to provide to us.”

Bataille has indicated that about 1.2 million of the discrepancies are related to income, 505,000 are with immigration data and 461,000 have conflicts related to citizenship information. Individuals can have more than one data problem, as the House Energy and Commerce Committee says there are at least 4 million inconsistencies from their investigation. Bataille said the “vast majority” of cases are being resolved in favor of the consumers.

Of course they are. Can't prove you're a citizen? No problemo! We'll take your word for it. Government records show you're making $90 grand a year but you claim only 40? So sorry - our mistake.

Obamacare is a pooch that can't be screwed. No matter what problems pop up, the administration is going to guarantee its success.
