Did Hillary Lie to Congress?

A major bombshell in Edward Klein’s book being released this week titled Blood Feud calls Hillary Clinton’s account of the Benghazi events into question. In the book, Klein claims regarding the phone call Hillary received from Obama on the night of the attack:

She had no doubt that a terrorist attack had been launched against America on the anniversary of 9/11. However, when Hillary picked up the phone and heard Obama’s voice, she learned the president had other ideas in mind. With less than two months before Election Day, he was still boasting that he had al-Qaeda on the run.

If the truth about Benghazi became known, it would blow that argument out of the water.

“Hillary was stunned when she heard the president talk about the Benghazi attack,” one of her top legal advisers said in an interview. “Obama wanted her to say that the attack had been a spontaneous demonstration triggered by an obscure video on the Internet that demeaned the Prophet Mohammed.”

According to Klein, “Obama had put Hillary in a corner, and she and Bill didn’t see a way out. And so, shortly after 10 o’clock on the night of September 11, she released an official statement that blamed the Benghazi attack on an ‘inflammatory (video) posted on the Internet.’ ”

As can be seen from her testimony before the Senate Hearing on Benghazi on 1/23/13, Hillary said precisely the opposite to Sen. Ron Johnson, (R) Wisconsin, who was endeavoring to find out why Susan Rice was “purposefully misleading the American public.”

CLINTON’S RESPONSE: “And, you know, I just want to say that people have accused Ambassador Rice and the administration of misleading Americans. I can say, trying to be in the middle of this and understanding what was going on, nothing could be further from the truth.”

Which then led to her later outburst:

JOHNSON: No, no. Again. We were misled that there were supposedly protests and then something spread out of that - an assault sprang out of that. And that was easily ascertained that that was not the fact -

(CROSSTALK)

JOHNSON: And the American people could have known that within days and they didn't know that.

CLINTON: With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest? Or was it because of guys out for a walk one night and decided they would go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator. Now, honestly I will do my best to answer your questions about this, but the-the fact is that people were trying in real time to get to the best information. The I.C. has a process, I understand, going with the other committees to explain how these talking points came out.

Klein’s evidence is that the Obama Administration was not trying in “real time” to get to the best information on what happened. And Hillary knew this, and also that the administration was deliberately misleading America so as not to upset his chances for re-election.

The former secretary of state testified in the Benghazi Hearing, “I take responsibility, and nobody is more committed to getting this right.” There are at least three other statements she made in the hearings that demonstrate deception and that she is not committed to getting it right. The question now is will Hillary also be responsible not only for Benghazi, but for lying to Congress?
