Chelsea Clinton debuted as a prime time NBC correspondent to what could charitably be called mixed reviews, but has stayed on at the network as a part timer. Nothing too strenuous because of all her duties at the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, where schmoozing with wealthy influence-seekers really burns up a lot of energy.

It turns out that her part time gig pays really well. I guess those memories of being dead broke when leaving the White House really seared themselves into her consciousness, along with the desire to never be poor again. Politco writes:  

Chelsea Clinton earned an annual salary of $600,000 at NBC News before switching to a month-to-month contract earlier this year, sources with knowledge of the agreement told POLITICO.

Clinton, who joined NBC News as a special correspondent in November 2011, was up for renewal or nonrenewal this year. Instead, the sources said, the network decided to keep her on the payroll on a month-to-month basis so the two parties could sever ties if Clinton’s mother, Hillary Clinton, runs for president.

Chelsea is expecting her first child this fall, but that hasn’t stopped her from demonstrating a fashion sensibility commensurate with her skills as a network star.

There is no better example of the corruption of the Ruling Class in America than the riches and position showered on Chelsea Clinton, the unself-aware spawn of a powerful couple.
