GOP Should Boycott Face the Nation

Ed Driscoll at PJ Media has put up a disturbing if not unsurprising piece about the replacement for the doddering old fool presently presiding over some obscure and almost unwatched Sunday Show:

John Dickerson, replacing Bob Schieffer as the new host of Face the Nation, will continue the same level of objectivity that CBS has brought to viewers for half a century.

Mr. Driscoll points us to a 2013 piece at Breitbart by the inimitable John Nolte in which Mr. Nolte reveals that Dickerson is a “...bloodthirsty Slate writer orgasmic over the prospect of Obama permanently pulverizing and destroying the GOP is as noteworthy as green on grass.”

Dickerson once said (per Mr. Nolte):

The president who came into office speaking in lofty terms about bipartisanship and cooperation can only cement his legacy if he destroys the GOP. If he wants to transform American politics, he must go for the throat. …Obama’s only remaining option is to pulverize. Whether he succeeds in passing legislation or not, given his ambitions, his goal should be to delegitimize his opponents. Through a series of clarifying fights over controversial issues, he can force Republicans to either side with their coalition’s most extreme elements or cause a rift in the party that will leave it, at least temporarily, in disarray.

Here’s what I say: Let all GOPers from Chairman Priebus through every candidate and/or office holder just quietly decline all invitations to appear on any CBS venue.  Full stop.

No need to declare a boycott -- just initiate one.  Just say, “Thanks for asking.  No room on my schedule now.  Will get back to you when there is.”

And let the SOBs stew, and let the others observe.
