Bizarre: Obama looks into mirror, does not see Chamberlain

You just can't make this up.  The New York Times is not a funny paper, and its article on the tension between Obama and AIPAC over the Iran deal was by no means a stand-up comic's script.  Yet I could not help laughing at reading that, at a meeting with Jewish leaders, Mr. Obama "complained about advertising that portrayed him as an appeaser by comparing him to Neville Chamberlain, the British prime minister who signed the Munich Agreement with Adolf Hitler in 1938."  Clearly, Obama is so out of touch with reality that he does not even recognize himself in a mirror.

Or is there a difference between the two?

If there is, it is not in Mr. Obama's favor.  Sir Neville, after all, was firmly convinced that all that Hitler wanted was peace – on terms more equitable for Germany.  Chamberlain must not have read Mein Kampf.  He gave Hitler all he wanted, in a hope that he wouldn't want more.  Mr. Obama, on the other hand, knows full well whom he's dealing with in Iran. In an interview described in the recent New Yorker piece, "Obama said that he took Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has been in power a quarter century, at his word" and described him as leading a regime that is "cruel, bigoted, twisted."

And yet, not only is Mr. Obama willing to legitimize that regime's nuclear program in exchange for a 15-year-long hiatus in its further development, so as to push back possible military action – but he does not even see giving Iran a nuclear capability in 15 years as a catastrophic concession!

Clearly, something is off here, if the president is unable to see what is plainly out there.  Maybe he needs to take some time off, so he can come back rested.

May be he should let Joe Biden do the presidenting for a while.  Mr. Biden may even do a better job.  After all the bar for this does not seem to be that high.
