Republican Presidential Madness

The GOP contenders are busy with debates, events, fundraisers and kissing babies (do they still kiss babies?), but there are just too many of them for most voters to keep track.

I’d like to offer my presidential brackets to make sense of the madness:

First off was the Texas bracket where U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz beat former governor Rick Perry to move on to the next round.

Next was the Midwestern governor one where Ohioan John Kasich bested Wisconsin’s Scott Walker to proceed.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul advances by forfeit for the liberty movement spot.

For the Christian right, the money is on Ben Carson over former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee, and this may be the next one decided.

The coveted Florida spot had former governor Jeb! Bush with a big lead, but the big mo is with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

For the NIT brackets, we have Northeast governors Chris Christie from New Jersey leading New York’s George Pataki. For the Southern governors, Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal surviving Virginia’s Jim Gilmore, and for the senatorial bracket, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is topping Pennsylvania's Rick Santorum.

All attention right now is focused on the rich businessman bracket with Donald Trump having an early lead, but Carly Fiorina is gaining fast.

As the bracketed contests move to the next round and the field becomes more manageable, we may find some method to the madness.
