Public schoolteacher who asked 12-year-old students about their ‘privilege’ resigns
The leftist educational establishment has so thoroughly indoctrinated the teaching profession with a mania for tearing down what progressives see as “social injustice” that parents cannot assume their children are safe from harassment. A prime example is a woman named Yoselis Ramos, who taught Spanish at Monroe Middle School in the Hillsborough County (Tampa area) Public Schools until late this week.
In a move completely unrelated to her assignment to teach the Spanish Language, Ramos forced her charges to fill out: (via USA Today)
…a "how privileged are you?" list to seventh- and eighth-graders in two of Ramos' Spanish classes as an extension of literature the students were reading.
This is a grotesque invasion of privacy and attempt at mental and emotional manipulation of children. To call it abusive is an understatement. This mother, interviewed by TV station KTSP is understandably outraged.
This teacher was only caught because a child was upset enough to bring in her mother, and the mother was upset enough to complain. How many more times do these abuses go unnoticed by parents?
